Device management
This functionality is only available for Clinic Administrators.
PatientSky service and PatientSky device service are programs that enable third party integrations, such as locally installed lab systems, and devices plugged into your computer to communicate with the platform.
You will need to install PatientSky service and PatientSky device service in order to use some integrations. You can find out more about what each integration requires on our System requirements page.
Patientsky service and PatientSky device service requires Windows 10.
View and manage devices and integrations
Go to the Configuration moduleClinicDevice management (see how).
Here you will see a list of all installed integrations and devices, the tabs at the top allow you to view integrations and devices for This computer and Other computers and devices.

PatientSky service

PatientSky service generally is required for the integrations at a local system level that need to communicate with the PatientSky platform. E.g. Jabra headsets or other external systems like DIPS, IHR, and Fürst Forum. This means that each practitioner at a clinic will need to install PatientSky service on their own computer.
When you install PatientSky service, it automatically downloads and installs the programs required for the various integrations.

Install PatientSky service

    Go to the Configuration moduleClinicDevice management (see how).
  2. 2.
    In the This computer tab, click Add integration.
  3. 3.
    Choose PatientSky Service, then Download (see how).
  4. 4.
    Install the program. When the program has finished downloading, click on it to open it, and follow the instructions (see example).
PatientSky service now appears in the list within This Computer tab. Click on PatientSky service to see the status of the individual programs (see how). These will show a status of Ready when they are ready to be used.
When the PatientSky service is installed, you will find a lookup icon in the search field next to the patient's name. Hover over the icon to open see the different services.

PatientSky device service

PatientSky device service generally is required for integrations at a clinic level that need to communicate with the PatientSky platform. E.g. payment terminals from Nets and Verifone. This means all computers at a clinic can use a payment terminal or device that is connected to just one computer.
Install PatientSky device service

    Go to the Configuration moduleClinicDevice management (see how).
  2. 2.
    In the This computer tab, click Add integration.
  3. 3.
    Choose PatientSky device service, then Download (see how).
  4. 4.
    Install the program. When the program has finished downloading, click on it to open it, and follow the instructions.
Once installed, the platform will prompt you to name the PatientSky device service integration (see how). As the integration is visible to all users at a clinic, give it a name that ensures it’s obvious what the integration connects to or where the computer is located. E.g. reception terminal, Treatment room 2.
The name you choose is visible for all users at a clinic. View all the installed integrations by going to the Other computers and devices tab.
Click Submit to finish, the PatientSky device service will be shown in the list of integrations (see how).

Manage integrations

Click on any integration to edit or remove it. You can rename any PatientSky device service integration, including those installed on other computers at a clinic.
